The prime objective of The Save Shangri-la Foundation is poverty reduction in the rural areas of Nepal, and to lessen the present huge gap between the urban and rural people. Hence, the Foundation strives for socio-economical and political empowerment of marginalized communities of the least developed districts of Nepal.

The family members from ultra-poor family as well as dalit, indigenous community are the targeted beneficiaries of The Save Shangri-La Foundation's projects. Similarly, the project is very concerned about the issues of children, the disabled, women and seniors citizens.

In order to meet the objective of bringing socially excluded people to the main stream of the development of Nepal, the foundation's focus areas are the following:

Forging strong networking with C.B.O. (Community based organizations) and capacity building of stakeholders
